The Tokyo Board of Education holds an interview to determine their qualification for taking a 2018 Tokyo Metropolitan High School Entrance Examination for foreign students living in Tokyo


In addition to certain high schools which hold entrance examinations for foreign students living in Tokyo, the Tokyo Board of Education is also going to hold interviews to determine whether an applicant is qualified to take an entrance examination.

The Tokyo Board of Education will provide interpreters for the languages indicated below. No reservation is required.

1 Date

 2nd December (Saturday), 2017, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
 ※ Applicants must arrive at the venue indicated below no later than 4:00 p.m.

2 Applicant Eligibility

Foreign citizens living in Tokyo, or certain of living in Tokyo, with their guardian(s) by the day of the school entrance ceremony and who satisfy one of the conditions indicated below are eligible. It is necessary that they live in Tokyo with their guardians for the entire time of their studies at a Tokyo Metropolitan High School,

Notes: This interview is NOT for students of Japanese junior high schools located in Tokyo.

    Their qualifications are determined by their junior high schools.

3 Venue

Tokyo Metropolitan Government 2nd Main Building Hall (Ground Floor)
2-8-1 Nishi-Shinjuku, Shinjuku City, Tokyo

4 Languages for which interpreters will be available:

English, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Nepalese, Spanish, and Thai

5 Necessary Documents

※ Documents should be written either in Japanese or English. If you cannot provide documents written in either of these two languages, please consult the Board of Education at the venue.
